dream again

What a joy to know Jesus. What a joy to seek the one. What a joy to be a child of God.

Over the past two months I have communed with Jesus in ways I didn’t think possible. I have had a precious call upon my life for quite some time now. You see when I try to explain my love for this nation I am usually at a loss for words. It is a deep connection and deep sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. Being on the streets with children, praying over women in their homes, worshiping with our youth in this community, it all sets my heart ablaze. To see Filipinos walk in their true identity of being a beloved child of God is unlike anything else. To watch stories of redemption + healing unfold before my very eyes is a dream becoming reality. All because we serve a faithful God. All because His glory is so bright that the darkness cannot help but be overcome.

Poverty is here in the Philippines. It’s all around me every morning when I rise. It’s just a few houses down the street where families are unsure of their next meal. It’s just a few houses down the street where sexual exploitation is taking place. It’s just a few houses down the street where young adults are struggling to find community and falling deeper into the pit of depression. It’s just a few houses down the street where women are becoming lifeless and dreamless. It’s just a few houses down the street where the enemy is tightening a grip on my sisters and brothers.

Despite that, it is right here in this heart of mine where the Holy Spirit lives and breathes. It is right here inside this ministry center where space is given for prayer and worship. It is right here in my own hands, compassion and healing waiting to be spilled over the lives of this sweet community. It is right here where our youth are discovering the sweetness of a Father who knows their name. It is right here where we are launching food packages to local churches to feed hungry communities. It is right here where we have an elementary and high school educating our youth with the aim for them to know Jesus. It is right here we serve pregnant women providing physical and spiritual care for their tired bodies.  It is right here where we house single women carrying children fleeing from abusive homes. It is right here where God has planted my feet to look around, love with open arms and expect nothing in return. It is right here where I am dreaming again, waking up again, arise o’ sleeper!

I have so many things I can’t wait to tell you all more about. For now I will leave you with this…I pray you can experience His love for you this day, in a newfound way. I am right where I need to be and I know if you’re abiding in Him you are too. There are many exciting things happening here in the Philippines. Dreams are coming to life!

[ Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:12-14 ESV ]
